Cora Minnema-Appel (Cora Polet) became a translator by chance and, over the years, she worked hard and conscientiously on building a translated body of work that bears witness to a pronounced literary sense of quality. With a benevolent unpretentiousness, Cora Polet went on to fulfil an important role in the literary-cultural plane that binds the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
